Fourth class of my macrobiotic course today which was about heart health. We learnt how the heart can be either yin or yang depending on whether your blood pressure is high or low and what foods to eat to counteract either one or the other when they are predominant. We cooked both today to strike a balance between the two.
We started off with a lovely hearty soup with carrots, butternut squash, lentils, brussel sprouts, wakame, brown rice noodles and brown rice miso
From bottom clockwise: baked polenta cakes, nori mash, tofu scramble, blanched greens with a pumpkin seed and umeboshi sauce and an aduki bean stew with coconut milk and sweet potatoes
To finish off some baked treats with oat flakes and raisins
